A good day for a new start

After a week of uncertainty and much finger wagging and heated debate, Britain has a new Prime Minister. In the five weeks that I have been in London I have been immersed in what has proven to be the most compelling and tightly fought election race in recent memory. Getting to know this city during a time of uncertainty and has given me further motivation and assurance. Assurance that here, as just about anywhere in the world, it is up to you to get your butt in gear and go out and get what you want. My passion for politics is of the same vigor as my passion for knitted toilet roll holders and crocheted seat covers. So here is where the politics leaves this blog.

What I am getting at is that this is my first foray into developing a blog. One that I have been mulling over for a long time and have since had the kickstart to get up and running. I am a South African who has recently moved to London and will be writing about a range of topics that come across my path as I explore the wine culture of this city and this country. There will likely be a South African flavour to things at times, as this is what I am most familiar with. But my aim is to talk about new angles and ideas in the wine industry and how the online community is closing the gap between a vineyard on the other side of the world and a memorable glass of wine shared with old friends and new.

I hope that you will join me on this little adventure. I like to speak my mind and I trust that you will too.
